Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between percentage change and percentage points?
Percentage change is relative to the starting value (going from 20 to 25 is a 25% increase). Percentage points are the raw difference (20% to 25% is 5 percentage points). This tool reports percentage change.
Can I use negative numbers?
Yes - useful for percentage decrease and change calculations.
How does the tip splitter work?
It adds the tip percentage to the bill, then divides the total evenly across the number of people you set.
