About this tool
Pick a topic and a programming language, set a minimum star count if you want, and this tool queries the public GitHub search API and lists the highest-ranked repositories, by stars, forks or how recently they were updated. Each result links straight to the project. It uses GitHub without signing in, so it is limited to a handful of searches per minute; if you hit that limit the tool tells you to wait.
How to use it
- 1 Type a topic or keywords and choose a language.
- 2 Optionally set a minimum star count, a sort order, and how many results to show.
- 3 Press Find repositories and open the projects that look useful.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
The public GitHub REST search API. The tool sends your query straight to GitHub and shows what comes back; it does not store anything.
Why does it sometimes say rate limit?
GitHub allows only about ten searches per minute for visitors who are not signed in. Wait a minute and try again.
What does match as GitHub topic do?
It searches the curated topic tags maintained on GitHub (topic:react, topic:machine-learning) instead of matching the words anywhere in the repo, which gives tighter, more on-subject results.
